A few myths that trip up licensed-looking sites
Most of these mistakes start with a reasonable guess. The register is still quicker than the guess.
Myth: a colourful site is probably unlicensed
Look at the register, not the palette. Duelz is vivid; it is still an authorised domain of SuprPlay Limited. A plain site can be unlicensed. Colour is not evidence.
Myth: two brands means two companies
Duelz and NYSpins share account 48695. Listing both is useful for shoppers who meet them separately. Pretending they are unrelated licensees would be the error.
Myth: a UK licence guarantees a win
A licence is a permission with duties attached. Random number generators and live tables are still gambling. House edge does not vanish because a footer shows a crest.
Myth: lottery bets on Lottoland are official tickets
Lottoland’s own about page says you bet on the outcome of draws. You are not buying a ticket from the official lottery. That distinction matters for prize handling and for what you think you own.
Myth: self-exclusion on one site covers every app you will ever try
Operator self-exclusion covers that operator. GAMSTOP is the national remote scheme remote licensees must join. Still check that a new site is on the register before you assume it is in the scheme.
Fact you can use
If a domain is not on the licensee’s register list, do not deposit while you “work it out”. Walk away and search the Commission register by domain.
